Committed To Dental Excellence
We Create Beautiful and Brighter Smiles
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that your child visit the dentist prior to his or her first birthday. At this first visit, we invite you to join your child as we perform an oral exam, discuss and demonstrate proper oral hygiene practices, provide nutritional counseling as well as offer guidance on what you should expect in regard to your child’s continued dental development. We also will address all questions or concerns you may have. We look forward to becoming your child’s dental home.

Expectant Moms
Many pregnant mothers are unaware that their oral health can affect the health of their babies. Due to the rapid changing and increasing of hormones, your dental health may become compromised without proper homecare. At this time, maintaining proper oral hygiene, a well-balanced diet, and seeking regular dental treatment is of utmost importance. Research has shown a link between gum disease in pregnant women and low birthweight babies.
New moms should also be aware that the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends baby’s first visit by 1 year of age. If you have any questions about how to properly care for your new baby’s oral health or concerns that your baby may have a lip or tongue tie, we have been trained to assist you in these areas.
Frenectomies
Some infants are born with a short muscle attachment between the upper lip and front teeth or the tongue and lower front teeth. This is considered a high frenum attachment, and signs of this include:
- Breastfeeding difficulty or failure to latch
- Difficulty gaining weight
- Inability to clean the front teeth or top back teeth or to lick an ice cream cone
- Esthetic effects like spacing of front teeth
Since corrective action may be necessary to resolve restricted movement, we may recommend a frenectomy which is mildly invasive procedure which releases the muscle attachment to allow proper function and maneuvering of the musculature.
